Mr. Hou has deep experience with investment structuring, financing and portfolio management. Prior to co-founding the Sierra Point Group, Mr. Hou was a Partner at Cypress Capital Management, LP, where he managed a portfolio of public equity investments across a range of industries. Prior to Cypress Capital, Mr. Hou worked at Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. (“KKR”), where he focused on private equity investments for KKR’s 2006 Fund, a $17.6 billion leveraged buyout vehicle. Prior to joining KKR, Mr. Hou worked at Karsch Capital Management, LP, where he focused on value oriented public equity investments across a range of industries. Mr. Hou started his career at Greenhill & Co., LLC as an Analyst in the Mergers & Acquisitions and Restructuring advisory groups. Mr. Hou received his B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Mr. Ho is an experienced operator with expertise in venture capital and private equity, including sourcing investment candidates, evaluating prospective investments, and closing corporate financings. Prior to co-founding the Sierra Point Group, Mr. Ho was a Venture Partner at Vanedge Capital, LP (“Vanedge”), a $138 million first-time venture fund, where he focused on investments in digital media and interactive entertainment. Mr. Ho joined Vanedge during its inception, prior to any funds being raised, and supported gaps in fund operations to financial operating infrastructure and strategic planning for portfolio companies. Prior to his experiences at Vanedge, Mr. Ho was General Manager of MCL Motor Cars, Inc., a 4S luxury automotive dealership. He is experienced with maximizing shareholder returns, stakeholder conflict resolution, and analyzing future facilities expansion and relocation. Mr. Ho received his M.B.A. and B.B.A., a Joint Major in Economics and Business, from Simon Fraser University.
Mr. Kim is President and CEO of Trans-Pac Group of Companies. With annual revenues of over $300 million, Trans-Pac has become one of the largest private coastal log exporters to Asia. The Company has also expanded operations to include log harvesting, wood products manufacturing and distribution, and commercial and residential real estate. Mr. Kim was the recipient of Ernst & Young’s business-to-business products and services entrepreneur award in 2010.
In partnership with Westbank Corp., the Trans-Pac Group is currently developing a 17 story mixed-use building in Vancouver’s historic Chinatown district. This 156 unit condominium tower with 2 retail floors is one of the first major projects to lead Vancouver’s Chinatown redevelopment.
Mr. Reid is President and Founder of Kindred Construction, a construction management and consulting firm with competitive advantages and expertise in building diversified projects. Since its inception in 1980, Kindred Construction has evolved its business scope to include project types from social housing to iconic landmark construction. Sustainable buildings are also a part of Kindred’s competencies.
Although Kindred is most recognized for their luxury residential construction projects, their project portfolio also includes Cactus Club Coal Harbour at the Vancouver Convention Center, the Kitsilano Neighbourhood House and seniors’ residence, the John M.S. Lecky UBC Boathouse, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Vancouver Dealership, and Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden. Kindred is the recipient of numerous Heritage and Georgie Awards.
Mr. Woo has been involved with real estate development and hotel properties for over 20 years as Director and Chief Information Officer of Allied Holdings and Allied Hotel Properties. The Allied group of companies has been active in residential and commercial real estate development and investment in North America since 1968.
Allied is a pioneer of downtown Vancouver’s luxury multifamily residential apartments. Alberni Place was constructed in 1980. Other downtown Vancouver developments include the Delta Vancouver Suites, Simon Fraser Centre for Dialogue (and the attached residential units), and the residential tower next to the Holiday Inn. Allied’s hotel investments include more than 2,000 rooms with annual revenues totalling over $100 million.
